Precast
Glass Block Floor Panels (Roof Lights)
Precast floor panels are also known as roof lights. La Rochere manufacture
a range of glass blocks and
glass shells suitable for use in precast floor panels.
Characteristics of Floor Blocks La Rochere manufacture their shells and pavers by compression
of a glass drop at about 1050°C. These shells are annealed at
560°C to eliminate internal tensions. Insulating pavers are
obtained by heat fusion at more than 800°C of two hollow shells
and are also annealed at 560°C.
FIG 1 shows a selection of blocks that can be incorporated
into Precast Concrete Floor Panels:
For increased slip resistance, the glass surface can
be sandblasted.
